Greek View vs. Modern View
The views of both the Greek and the contemporary are able to be similar and different
in numerous ways. Similarly, the Greek and contemporary views have the ocean listed in
their map and they both viewed the
world in a circle. Additionally, they
include the countries Europe, Asia,
and Libya on their maps while
Greek having some specific
countries and the contemporary
having all the countries. However,
they differentiate
because the Greeks believed
Greece belongs in the middle of their map and the ocean moves in a circular motion to
the right. For instance, the current map theory is that the earth is a sphere while the
Greek believed the world was flat, but circular. While the Greek view has three
countries listed in their map, the modern map includes more than over fifty countries.
Also importantly, the Greeks listed a limited amount of countries and areas in their map
with one ocean circling the view of their world. Although, both Greek
and contemporary views have similarities, they both include
many differences within their maps.
