Chapter 7: The Sounding of the Call
Discussion Questions:
1.) London describes Buck's dreams of the primitive man: "The salient thing of this other world seemed fear." What does he mean by this? Why would that be true? Why isn't Thornton's world filled with fear?
----------The qoute means that evry dream Buck has is always about his bad past. His bad past always has a huge affect on his life because he always has nightmares and he can lose his focus. Thortan's world isn't filled with fear becasue he maybe never ahd a bad past like Buck did to make nightmares he just has a past which is fine that can't cause nightmares.
2.) Why is Buck intent on befriending the wolf? What makes him break off their travels and return to camp? What does this say about Buck's place in the world?
-------------Buck was intending to befriend the wolf because he knows that thyeboth can get al0ong and because he is also part of teh wild. Buck breaks off and goes to camp when he heard a scream and he found that there friends were dead. Buck place in hso world is tough because he has went though many hardships in his life.
3.) What does Buck's fight with the bear and the moose display about his embrace of the call? Why do you think London included them in the story? What predictions can you make about Buck's future?
-------------Buck's fight with the moose and bear shows he has no fear of anything and that he can withstand even the strongest animals in the wild. London included teh animals in the story since the two animals are the toughest in the wild and a part wold part dog can kill them, LOndon wnats to prove that Buck is stronger than the toughest animals. My prediction of Buck in th efuture is that he will grow up to be in the wild and the leader of teh wolf pack.
4.) What does Buck learn from his slaughter of the Yeehats? Does this make his answering of the call harder or easier? Explain.
-------------Buck learns that the Yeehats ar epeople who don't like people entering their territory which was now taken by Buck. This makes the answering of teh call more easier because he now knows how to survive int he wild because he has the most important abilities that can help you survive easier.
5.) Does the book have a happy or sad ending? Explain your answer. What do you think London would say?
----------------The book has both a sad and a happy ending because John Thortan died by being his head cut off by teh Yeehats an dfor a happy endign Buck is finally liveing in a pack of wild wolves where he belongs so there is a sad part by John Thortan which Buck can move on even though he was someone Buck really cared about an dnow he can focus on teh pack and becoming a werewolf.

2.) Write a description of the calling you hear in your own life. When do you hear it? How does it speak to you? What senses (sounds, smells, tastes, feelings, sights) do you connect to your call? How is that call different from the life you are living right now?
-------------When i am outside and it is a peaceful day I can hear the smooth trees bristeling, the water flowing down, and evrything is peaceful. You can smell the fresh fruits, the fresh plants, an dteh trees .The feeling you get from nature is just simply excuisite, I mean the physically an dmentally you feel relaxed, stress-free,peaceful, an dnature can relieve you from worries. The sight is magnificent on how the trees are flowing in fall, the flowers are growing little by little, and you can call it heaven based on how it is perfect. The call is different on how I am living right now because the feeling is simlar but in the wild there is no rules and in the call there is animals roaming free so you still need to be careful.
